The Journey

Chef Lumb is an exceptional entrepreneur and internationally acclaimed chef who has won numerous awards for her culinary prowess. Her passion for cooking began as a high school freshman at Germantown High School, where she was mentored by her teacher, Claudette Staton. Chef Lumb further honed her skills under the tutelage of celebrity chefs and eventually graduated from the Restaurant School in Philadelphia. She also won two awards from the Taste of Success Competition, sponsored by PNC Bank and Entrepreneur Works, during her time there.

Driven by her entrepreneurial spirit, Chef Lumb sought to learn about the food business's ins and outs and gained invaluable experience working at Tranzilli's Real Italian Water Ice. She then went on to start her own cleaning company, which developed her entrepreneurial skills while allowing her to continue her culinary training.

Chef Lumb's culinary expertise extends to natural food preparation, and she interned at Atiya Ola's Spirit First Foods to expand her knowledge. She has also served as a personal chef to celebrities and is well-known for her unique style of preparing natural foods. Chef Lumb continues to hone her skills and recently obtained the Sunfire Foods Culinary Certification for Raw Foods Preparation. Her list of impressive accomplishments includes winning awards while working with esteemed chefs such as Victoria Tyson, Chef David Simms, and Chef Tara Perkins. Currently, Chef Lumb is working at Akwabba in the University area in the Historic Philadelphia location as a chef and innkeeper, receiving rave reviews from her guests. Be sure to check out the fabulous Akwabba when you visit Philadelphia.
